These programs are intended to serve as a means of career (job-related) development, as well as individual professional development. Educational assistance that is funded by university departments is available, subject to funds being budgeted within the University.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/hrs_forms.php\">Access forms on the HR website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programs in MTSU Policies&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/policies\/p829\/\">829<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/policies\/p830\/\">830<\/a>&nbsp;provide benefits for personnel at MTSU to help&nbsp;further their&nbsp;formal education. The program in MTSU Policy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/policies\/p831\/\">831<\/a>&nbsp;provides benefits for dependents of&nbsp;MTSU employees and the programs in MTSU Policy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/policies\/p643\/\">643<\/a>&nbsp;provide assistance to dependents of&nbsp;veterans, disabled, elderly persons, and to retired state employees.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#one\">Faculty or Administrative\/Professional Staff Grant-in-Aid Program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#two\">Faculty and Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#three\">Employee Audit\/Non-Credit Program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#five\">MTSU Employee Tuition Waiver<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#seven\">Student Discount for Spouses and Dependent Children of MTSU Employees<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#eight\">Veterans&#8217; Dependents&#8217; Post-Secondary Education Program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/hrs\/benefits\/assist.php#eight\">Disabled, Elderly Persons, and State Retirees Program<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Professional Membership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/academic-advising\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/156\/2024\/09\/ProfessionalAssociationsWebsites.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"175\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;a list of organizations academic advisors can join to further professional development, meet other professionals in the industry, learn from experts in the field, and have access to continuous training and webinars.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Longevity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After you have completed three years of employment with the State of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú, you will begin receiving longevity pay added into your direct depsoit. Longevity is paid up to a maximum of 30 years of service and will be paid to you on the first pay period after your anniversary date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/academic-advising\/professional-development\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"176\">Advisor Mastery Program (AMP)<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2017, MTSU&#8217;s professional development committee initiated the AMP professional development certification process. Its&nbsp;goal&nbsp;is to provide advisors more opportunities to recharge professionally and receive their well-deserved recognition. By participating in events and activities offered by AMP, advisors can earn points and potentially earn certification. Certification provides the advisor priority for travel funds.
