Your ADCP advisor will help you select the program that best fits your needs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingi-have-some-college-credit-already-can-that-be-used-toward-my-degree\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablei-have-some-college-credit-already-can-that-be-used-toward-my-degree\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablei-have-some-college-credit-already-can-that-be-used-toward-my-degree\">I have some college credit already. Courses taken from community colleges and other universities may count toward MTSU&#8217;s General Education requirements. Other courses may count toward elective requirements or, in some cases, toward the major or area of emphasis requirements. Your ADCP advisor can help sort those out.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingi-have-a-lot-of-experience-and-training-can-that-help-me-finish-faster\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablei-have-a-lot-of-experience-and-training-can-that-help-me-finish-faster\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablei-have-a-lot-of-experience-and-training-can-that-help-me-finish-faster\">I have a lot of experience and training. Our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/adcp\/pla\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"27\">Prior Learning Assessment Program<\/a>\u00a0can provide college credit for college-level learning gained through a variety of activities. Because everyone\u2019s experience is different, we talk to each student independently about this. Your advisor will work with you to see if this is an option.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwho-is-your-typical-student\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewho-is-your-typical-student\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewho-is-your-typical-student\">Who is your typical student?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewho-is-your-typical-student\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwho-is-your-typical-student\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels. Many are parents with full-time careers in progress. Many have returned to college to change their career paths, to become more valuable to their employers, and, more importantly, to fulfill a previously unattained goal in their lives. Typically, the average student is 25 years old (or older) and has been in the work place at least five years. Most have some college credit. Unlike many programs that require a specified number of credit hours, the MTSU Adult Degree Completion Program is designed to start where you are.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-do-i-do-next\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-do-i-do-next\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-do-i-do-next\">What do I do next?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-do-i-do-next\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-do-i-do-next\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your next step is to fill out the form on the&nbsp;right (at the bottom on mobile phones) and press submit. Then, gather copies of your transcripts (they can be unofficial to begin the process) from all institutions of higher education you have attended in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having these things ready will help you to get the most from your initial interview. They also will provide a head start if you decide to enroll in the Prior Learning Assessment class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, be sure and make a list of any questions you might have. We will call you as quickly as we can! We are excited that you are interested in finishing your degree and will help you navigate through the admissions process and stand beside you through the entire program. Please note that admission to MTSU and the Adult Degree Completion Program Evaluation are two separate processes. You must be admitted to the University before you can register for any classes.
