If you have been planning to declare or change a major or minor, but have not yet done so, you should consult with your academic advisor immediately to make the official declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Courses can only be determined to be eligible based on the officially declared major and minor as noted in your student record.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SECOND: Assumptions About Financial Aid Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial aid is initially awarded based on the assumption that undergraduate students will enroll full-time and graduate students will enroll half-time in&nbsp;<strong>eligible coursework<\/strong>&nbsp;during the fall and spring semesters.&nbsp; Then, before financial aid is disbursed, it will be adjusted based on actual enrollment in eligible coursework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your financial aid award requires that MTSU calculate for you a cost of attendance (COA). Your COA will be based on the eligible hours you are enrolling in\u2014that is, the number of hours you are enrolling in that apply toward your officially declared program of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">THIRD:&nbsp;Keep Your Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that dropping or not attending your courses can negatively impact your eligibility for current and or future aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important that you discuss outstanding degree requirements with your advisor when you enroll for next semester\u2019s classes. If your current program is not correct, work with your advisor to make the appropriate changes to your major or minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Contact your academic advisor to discuss options if your financial aid has been reduced due to enrollment in courses that do<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>not apply towards outstanding degree requirements<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You need to Make It Count when you meet with your&nbsp;advisor and plan your schedule for each semester.
