{"id":133,"date":"2024-04-26T15:58:14","date_gmt":"2024-04-26T15:58:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/?page_id=133"},"modified":"2026-04-21T17:30:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T22:30:08","slug":"summer","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Aid for Summer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important Reminders<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Requesting financial aid for the Summer term is a separate process from the Fall and Spring semesters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have already completed the 2025-26 FAFSA and have listed MTSU, then you don\u2019t have to complete it again for summer.&nbsp; If MTSU is not listed on your FAFSA, you will need to make a correction to your <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">2025-26 FAFSA<\/a> to add MTSU school code of 003510. If you attended another school during the spring semester or MTSU is not the first school listed on your FAFSA, you can update the school information on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tn.gov\/collegepays\/tsac-student-portal.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TSAC student portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be maintaining&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer students must have all official transcripts sent to the MTSU Admissions Office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be admitted as a degree-seeking student. Transient students are&nbsp;<strong>NOT&nbsp;<\/strong>eligible for federal or state aid at MTSU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/tuition\/\">financial aid budget<\/a> (also called &#8220;Cost of Attendance&#8221;) is based on the number of hours and the part(s) of term for which you are enrolled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:MTOneStop@mtsu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MTOneStop@mtsu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;before dropping and\/or adding courses. Your financial aid could be affected. This means that you could owe a balance to MTSU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Typically, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/disbursementandrefunds\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/disbursementandrefunds\/\">financial aid refunds<\/a> are available at the start of your first enrolled summer course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Until Spring 2026 grades are posted and continuing eligibility is determined, students\u00a0<em><strong>may not<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0be able to use federal financial aid or Lottery Scholarships to confirm enrollment until\u00a0<strong>May 13<\/strong>\u00a0for summer classes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>May 1<\/strong><\/td><td>Deadline to complete the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to receive Lottery Scholarships for Summer.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>May 13<\/strong><\/td><td>Anticipated date that Summer Lottery Scholarship awarding will <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">begin<\/span><\/strong> for students that are determined to be eligible.&nbsp;Please note that it may take several days for all awards to be made.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>May 13<\/strong><\/td><td>First fee payment confirmation deadline. Click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/tuition\/dates.php#summer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>&nbsp;for additional fee payment deadlines.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>June 15\u00a0by 4:00 pm<\/strong><\/td><td>Priority appeal deadline for the Summer 2025 term. Please visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/financial-aid\/appeals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Financial Aid Appeals<\/a>&nbsp;page for more information.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>June 15<\/strong><\/td><td>Last date to register for a class or submit the Summer Lottery Transfer Notification Form. After this date, there is no guarantee that you will receive a Lottery Scholarship for the Summer term.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>June 30<\/strong><\/td><td>Deadline to complete the 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Summer 2025 to be eligible for federal aid. (The FAFSA Processing System must have received your application by this date.)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>July 1<\/strong><\/td><td>Census date: Your financial aid will be adjusted based on the number of hours enrolled that meet a degree requirement as of the census date.&nbsp; Please be cautious when changing your major because it can cause an eligible class to no longer be eligible for your new major.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>July 31<\/strong><\/td><td>Last day to apply for a loan.
