GRADUATION!! It is both an exciting time and a bit of a &#8230;process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We, here at the College of Graduate Studies, want you to have the best and most relaxing time making memories as possible. So, we have put together a list of things you need to know to get you to the big walk across the stage without stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please always remember to check your emails from&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:Records@mtsu.edu\">Records@mtsu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:AskGrad@mtsu.edu\">AskGrad@mtsu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for pertinent information that will lead you through the process; but if you&#8217;re fighting the jitters, remember to follow the general outline of how things work below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/graduation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">For specific information, please visit the MTSU Graduation Websites.&nbsp;<\/a><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-block accordion expandable-group expandable-group-lightblock\" id=\"newExpandable\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingbeginning-your-last-semester\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablebeginning-your-last-semester\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablebeginning-your-last-semester\">Beginning Your Last Semester<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablebeginning-your-last-semester\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingbeginning-your-last-semester\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">DegreeWorks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Check your DegreeWorks for requirement completion. DegreeWorks can be accessed through Pipeline:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pipeline.mtsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Pipeline<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0-&gt; Registration &amp; Student Records -&gt; DegreeWorks (Button on the right side of the screen)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>In order to graduate, you must&nbsp;<strong>complete every item.<\/strong>&nbsp;Completed items are marked in Green.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If something is not marked in green:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current courses will show as \u201cin-progress\u201d until grades are entered and meet minimum standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comp exam scores, portfolio, thesis\/dissertation, internship grades, etc. will be submitted by your program, completing your DegreeWorks item.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact your advisor if courses are incorrectly showing in the additional coursework section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advising<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Meet with your advisor to ensure everything is on track for you to graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discuss the need for any revisions to your DegreeWorks through a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.edu\/graduate\/forms\">Revision Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intent to Graduate Form<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Complete your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.edu\/graduate\/forms\">Intent to Graduate<\/a>\u00a0form within the first two weeks of your graduating semester.\u00a0<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>Without this form, the College of Graduate Studies does not know of your intent to graduate, and you&nbsp;<strong>will not<\/strong>&nbsp;be listed as a graduating student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingthroughout-your-last-semester\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablethroughout-your-last-semester\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablethroughout-your-last-semester\">Throughout Your Last Semester<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablethroughout-your-last-semester\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingthroughout-your-last-semester\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Watch Your MTSU Emails!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Emails may come from the College of Graduate Studies, Records, etc. regarding administrative details about graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>This may include the commencement program &amp; diploma information, gown sizing &amp; regalia, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Confirm Personal Information\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Confirm\/Correct any information: Name and Permanent Address (location you are using AFTER graduation). Details of this process may be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/graduation\/diploma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">End of Semester Tasks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep in contact with your advisor about any end of semester details, such as comprehensive exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thesis\/Dissertation Requirements<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are working on either a thesis or dissertation, complete the requirements on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.edu\/graduate\/student\/thesis\">Thesis \/ Dissertation website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingend-of-your-last-semester\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandableend-of-your-last-semester\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandableend-of-your-last-semester\">End of Your Last Semester<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandableend-of-your-last-semester\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingend-of-your-last-semester\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graduate!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Complete all items above before the deadline dates and participate in the commencement ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have not completed all DegreeWorks items and will not be graduating when you anticipated, complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.edu\/graduate\/forms\">Request to Withdraw Intent to Graduate<\/a>\u00a0AND a new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.edu\/graduate\/forms\">Intent to Graduate<\/a>\u00a0form for the semester in which you anticipate graduating. This puts you on the correct list as a graduating student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingafter-the-commencement-ceremony\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandableafter-the-commencement-ceremony\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandableafter-the-commencement-ceremony\">After the Commencement Ceremony<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandableafter-the-commencement-ceremony\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingafter-the-commencement-ceremony\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Grades and Transcripts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Final grades are typically posted the following week after the commencement ceremony (even thesis\/dissertation grades).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you plan to request an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/graduation\/records\/\">official transcript<\/a>, ensure you check the box to \u201c<strong>hold for degree<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get Your Diploma<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A physical copy of your diploma will be sent after the commencement ceremony to the address listed on your Intent to Graduate Form, unless otherwise corrected.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">After looking through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/graduation\/\">MTSU Graduation webpages<\/a>\u00a0and reading your emails, please direct any graduation questions to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Records@mtsu.edu\">Records@mtsu.edu<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:AskGrad@mtsu.edu\">AskGrad@mtsu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every graduate student ends up at this point.
