Once a diagnosis is confirmed, medication prescribing may begin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Information About Treatment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Because ADHD medications are controlled substances with a high potential for misuse, students must sign a treatment contract agreeing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not to share or misuse prescribed medication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To maintain regular follow-up visits with their clinician<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Costs<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initial screening \u2013 15-minute appointment &#8211; <strong>$0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ADHD consultation: <strong>$100<\/strong>, includes an EKG<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drug screen: <strong>$40<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow-up visits: <strong>$50<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prescribing Policy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prescriptions are issued <strong>one month at a time<\/strong> and sent electronically to the pharmacy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students stable on medication may be scheduled for follow-ups every <strong>3 months<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interim monthly prescriptions may be provided after student email check-ins with their clinician<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prescribing may be discontinued if there are concerns about effectiveness, side effects, tolerance, or contract violations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MTSU Student Health Services can prescribe medication for students with an established ADHD diagnosis confirmed by formal testing.
