There are specific deadlines and dates of expiration for each protocol. Please refer to the protocol approval notice for these dates. In general, the following applies to all of the protocols approved by the MTSU IRB:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Data collected beyond the expiration date would be considered null and void, and the researcher may not be able to use them. Funding received during the lapse period would be returned to the concerned agency. Other penalties, such as denial of future protocols and reporting to concerned academic divisions, will be enforced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The researcher must make appropriate arrangements to request continuing review in a timely manner. No reminders will be sent. The same is true for submitting final reports (closeout). The dates and deadlines for each protocol will be clearly displayed in the approval notice, and the PI\/FA are expected to take appropriate action in accordance with their PI\/FA responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
