Lt. Gen. Keith M. Huber, who retired from the U.S. Army after 38 years of service, joined MTSU in January 2015 as senior advisor for veterans and leadership initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As senior advisor, LTG Huber examines the university\u2019s policies and practices for the recruitment and student success of veterans and their family members. LTG Huber also provides direct feedback to President Sidney A. McPhee and Provost Mark Byrnes on veteran support and outreach to the military and veteran communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LTG Huber is the highest-ranking retired officer serving in such a role among all of 乐播传媒入口\u2019s public and private higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President McPhee said LTG Huber\u2019s \u201cvast military experience, his ability to tackle and excel in often challenging situations and his devotion to the men and women who have served our nation in our Armed Forces give him a unique perspective and the tools necessary to help us become a national leader in veteran education.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTG Huber\u2019s 38 years of service in the U.S. Army included command of the Combined Joint Interagency Task Force 435 in Afghanistan. He also served as a Company Commander, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade and Division Operations Officer, Battalion Commander and Director of Civil-Military Affairs with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He earned the Combat Infantryman, Expert Infantryman, Master Parachutist, Combat Diver, Special Operations Diving Supervisor, Air Assault and Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification badges and was Special Forces and Army Ranger qualified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
