{"id":88,"date":"2024-06-24T19:45:36","date_gmt":"2024-06-24T19:45:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/online\/?page_id=88"},"modified":"2026-04-15T00:55:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T00:55:44","slug":"faculty_share_master_course","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/online\/faculty_share_master_course\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharing Blueprint \/ Master Course Content"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Using the export\/import function in D2L to share content allows the faculty developer to export all the content into a zip file and share that with each adjunct. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Export<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within your blueprint \/ master course, click the <strong>cog next to your name<\/strong> in the top right of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select<strong> Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Export as Brightspace Package<\/strong> and <strong>Start<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check the box<\/strong> to the left of <strong>Select All Components<\/strong> (top one)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Continue<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to the bottom of the page to the\u00a0<em>Additional Components to Export<\/em> section<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check the box<\/strong> to the left of <strong>Include course files in the export package<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Export<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Done<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It may take several minutes for the export file to be prepared.\u00a0 When it is ready, you will see an orange dot next to the\u00a0<strong>bell icon<\/strong> at the top right of the screen, to the left of your picture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Click the bell icon <\/strong>when you see an orange dot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Click the notification<\/strong> alerting you that the export file is ready<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201c<strong>Click here to download the export Zip package<\/strong>\u201d \u2013 \u26a0\ufe0f<em>This is very important<\/em>:\u00a0 the file must remain a .ZIP file; do NOT open and extract, keep as zip (it probably auto saves to a downloads folder).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once downloaded to your computer, you can save it anywhere. It is likely too big to email, so you may want to create a <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OneDrive<\/a> folder you can share instead of attaching the file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Import<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be in the course to which you want to add blueprint \/ master course content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Click the cog<\/strong> next to your name in the top right of the page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Import Components<\/strong> (last one) and <strong>Start<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Upload the .zip file<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Import All Components<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wait for the progress bar<\/strong> on the right-hand side <strong>to turn into a checkmark<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u26a0\ufe0fDo not do anything else in your D2L while this is happening. Stay on the page while it is importing or it will forget and only partially load content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once loaded, update instructor bio, dates, and other faculty-specific information. As a reminder, approved content is to be taught as approved.
