Good Afternoon, Faculty Colleagues –

See below for the most recent monthly installment of Canvas updates for faculty. It’s an exciting time as work accelerates in advance of our Summer 2026 go-live. 

  1. TheÌýfinalÌýbatch of K16 custom course migrations will begin very soon (withÌýcourse availabilityÌýin mid-April).
    1. If you have a complex course to suggest for custom migration, pleaseÌýcomplete and submitÌýthisÌýÌýby Friday, March 6.ÌýAvailability is limited, so pleaseÌýsubmitÌýonlyÌýcomplex courses with significant content. Our team will prioritize submissionsÌýand accommodate as many as possible.
    2. Remember that due to limited resources, custom migration services are not available for all D2L courses. Recent course shells using multiple LMS features, along with MTSU Online courses, will undergo custom migration. Otherwise,Ìýyou shouldÌýmove courses and content using the guidelines in thisÌýpdfÌýandÌý.Ìý
  1. Summer and Fall 2026 courseÌýshellsÌýare now visible inÌý. These are just shells, without course content, but youÌýcanÌýimport contentÌýanytime.ÌýPdfÌýandÌýÌýfor how to do so are available in theÌýfaculty resourcesÌýon theÌýCanvas website.
  1. Students cannot access D2L after May 15, 2026, but faculty permissions are active throughÌýDecemberÌý31, 2026.

  2. CIO Yvette Clark and IÌýwill soonÌýfinalize plansÌýto archiveÌýpast D2L courses, thereby enabling access to D2L course data and submissions pastÌýDecember 31, 2026. More information to come.
