Spring 2026 Canvas Pilot
MTSU is in the process of moving from its current learning management system, D2L Brightspace, to Canvas. During Spring 2026, a limited number of courses will participate in a pilot using Canvas. As a result, some students may have classes in both systems. If your course is part of the pilot, you鈥檒l see an announcement in D2L directing you to Canvas. You can also review the linked list below to check whether any of your Spring 2026 courses are included in the pilot.
Spring 2026 Pilot Courses
View the list of courses included in the Spring 2026 Pilot. This list will be updated regularly, and changes may occur as the semester approaches. Some courses may choose to opt out, while others may be added.
View a Sample Canvas Course
Take a look at a sample Canvas course. You can self-enroll in a sample course to look around and see what to expect in Canvas. It contains some basic content and assessments you can try out. Download the mobile app and see how a course looks on your phone.
Select the button below and choose the Enroll in Course button to view the Getting to Know Canvas – Student Edition course. This course is just a sample and is not associated with any academic courses.
Want to unenroll from the sample course? Go into the course and select the Drop this Course button to the right on the course home page.
Use the Canvas Student Mobile App
- Go to the appropriate app store.
- Search for “Canvas Student”.
- Download and install the Canvas Student app (developed by Instructure).
Logging In & Accessing the MTSU Account
- Open the Canvas Student app.
- Use a QR code to access Canvas for MTSU
- Select the QR Code link at the bottom of the app screen.
- Access your account on a web browser, select the Account icon in the global navigation bar.
- Choose QR for Mobile Login
- A warning message about sharing the QR code will appear. Do not share this QR code; it connects directly to your account. Click Proceed.
- Scan the QR code
- It will take you into your MTSU Canvas account.
- Manually enter the information:
- Tap Find my school.
- Enter MTSU and select 乐播传媒入口 (MTSU) from the list.
- Log in using your MTSU credentials (username and password).
