OSHKOSH, Wis. 鈥 乐播传媒入口鈥檚 Department of Aerospace brought True Blue back to Wisconsin for the 2024 EAA AirVenture, connecting with alumni and industry partners during the world鈥檚 largest gathering of aviation enthusiasts.

Unmanned aircraft systems or UAS are creating thousands of new jobs in many industries and proving to be a major fixture in the future of aviation worldwide.

MTSU students have won top honors and a $5,000 prize in a nationwide collegiate advertising competition to promote natural gas usage.

The聽乐播传媒入口 stock horse team聽was crowned the 2025聽National Intercollegiate Ranch and Stock Horse Association Division 2 National Champion聽team in April in Amarillo, Texas.聽

Over 1,300 third graders from Murfreesboro City Schools visited MTSU鈥檚 Experiential Learning and Research Center for a Farm2School field trip. Students got to experience a farm day including feeding the cows, learning about tractors, and making crafts from dried beans and yarn.

June 17, 2016- Time to 鈥楽addle Up鈥 for family fun July 29 with ACE Learning Center
鈥淪addle Up,鈥 the MTSU program鈥檚 annual fundraising event, is more family-friendly this year, opening up Murphy Center from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 29 for kid-focused fun, hands-on activities and, of course, great food.

About 600 Murfreesboro City Schools’ third-graders learned about the MTSU gardens and another 600 took in the dairy portion of the MTSU Experiential Learning and Research Center Thursday (May 12).

Children have a blast when they visit a farm 鈥 or, in this case, the assortment of agriculture-related stations manned by MTSU students and volunteers for the third Agricultural Education Spring Fling Tuesday, April 12, in the 乐播传媒入口 Livestock Center.
April 15, 2015-Farm animals captivate 900 at Ag Education Spring Fling
The young students came to MTSU from all parts of Rutherford County: La Vergne, Rockvale, Lascassas, Smyrna and Murfreesboro. Nearly 900 youngsters in all, from pre-kindergarten through second-graders, attended. They came for the second MTSU Agricultural Education Spring Fling April 14 in the 乐播传媒入口 Livestock Center on Greenland Drive.

MTSU Farm Laboratories held an Open House for the public and MTSU community. Visitors toured the gardens, the apiary, and the MTSU Dairy. The Aerospace department captured footage of the event through the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

MTSU electronic media communication major Ryan Skelley may have discovered 鈥渢he best way to end college.鈥 He and three research project teammates raced a propane-powered go-kart in competition against three other vehicles using different alternative fuels.

The MTSU Archaeological Field School has taken the classroom outdoors for the last six weeks, keeping students hoping for breezes and wearing extra sunscreen as they dig and learn at a site in the rolling hills of western Rutherford County.

Cole Easson and Jacqueline Williams have earned a $6,500 stipend to test water quality at ten locations throughout the fall and winter.

Sarah Clark recently earned the opportunity to complete a virtual internship with the Smithsonian Institution at the National Museum of Natural History studying the evolution of equine influenza.

Ecology students learn to understand the spread of disease in wildlife and plant populations and apply that to humans in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Junior Achievement of Middle 乐播传媒入口 located on Powell Place in Nashville works to teach financial literacy to secondary students. MTSU represents higher education within the finance park simulation.

The Jones College of Business has opened the Mel Adams State Farm Agent Sales Lab to allow students in the Professional Selling concentration to experience real-world sales scenarios.
June 13, 2017- Dale Carnegie Training honors MTSU鈥檚 Urban with Global Leadership Award
MTSU Professor David Urban earned the Global Leadership Award from Dale Carnegie Training Worldwide presented to him by Joe Hart, the organization’s president and CEO.
December 22, 2016- MTSU business students tout value of hands-on internship experience
A group of MTSU students earned the opportunity to intern with Hytch, a ride-sharing service app.

MTSU students displayed their ideas at the 2016 Business Plan Competition Finals, in which over $20,000 in prizes were awarded to students.

June 28, 2018- Project SEED helps Central Magnet student get jump-start on future career
A local high school student participated in Project SEED sponsored by the American Chemical Society. This program provided hands-on scientific experiences in research labs around the country, including MTSU鈥檚.
May 15, 2017- International Liquid Chemistry Research Project launches at MTSU
A unique partnership between 乐播传媒入口 and the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies at the Polish Academy of Sciences will allow MTSU undergraduate students to interact daily with European scientists as the students conduct National Science Foundation-funded research on liquid crystals.

Some MTSU students will try to make Good Friday an even better Friday for some local youngsters and their elders. The 26 students of Stephanie Bush鈥檚 Aging Health and Development Class will host an Easter egg hunt at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Stones River Manor, a senior living community at 205 Haynes Drive in Murfreesboro.

A group of students from Lori Kissinger鈥檚 COMM 2200 course enhanced their communication skills by planning a presentation for their EXL project. Students partnered with Mike Helms of Bridges, who is deaf, to give a lecture on how to communicate with the deaf.

A group of Lori Kissinger鈥檚 COMM 2200 EXL students worked with various young people with disabilities at MTSU in February. Under the direction of Lauren Rudd, in Human Sciences, the young students were assisted in making tea caddies. The tea caddies are part of the Teapot Diplomats program of VSA TN. This collaboration across disciplines allowed students to work together to benefit VSA 乐播传媒入口, which provides opportunities for young people with disabilities to participate in and express themselves through the arts and arts education.

MTSU Chemistry and Physical Science professor Dr. Judith Iriarte-Gross received the William E. Bennett award. She was honored this award due to her involvement in the SENCER community. The SENCER models are curricular approaches to improving science learning and supporting engagement with complex issues. Through the “lens” of a matter or set of matters of public consequence, a SENCER model course or program teaches science that is both challenging and rigorous.

June 21, 2016- Youngsters gain goat insights at MTSU camp in livestock center
Temperatures hovered around the 90-degree mark outside the 乐播传媒入口 Livestock Center. Inside, where air conditioning made it quite comfortable, more than 40 youngsters from across 乐播传媒入口 spent the entire day Tuesday, June 21, learning techniques about the care of goats and getting ideas for showing them in competitions from professionals.

The Migration with Dignity project seeks to preserve and celebrate the vibrant cultural diversity in middle 乐播传媒入口 through stories of migration. EXL faculty member, Dr. Antonio Vasquez, teaching Contemporary Migration: Global Trends, Local Implications 3040 ensured that students were able to apply course concepts by participating in this this project. This project highlighted five original short films and one small public exhibit co-created by MTSU Global Studies students in direct collaboration with middle 乐播传媒入口 families representing Bosnia Herzegovina, Iraq, Mexico, and Somalia.

March 29, 2016- Nutrition students offer free evaluations, community coaching
Students in Virginia Bogle鈥檚 EXL Nutrition Coaching and Counseling Skills 4305 class gained hands-on experience by offering free nutrition evaluation and coaching individualized specifically by the Senior Dietetic EXL Students and a Registered Dietitian. All sessions were held on campus in the Cason Kennedy Nursing Building. The sessions were one hour long and were designed to fit the needs of each individual that attended the sessions. Graduate student, Chloe鈥 Truitt, attended a session and stated that she 鈥渁ppreciated the individual care and concern she received on her personal needs and health goals.鈥 The free, student-led nutrition evaluation and coaching sessions have been ongoing every spring semester for the last five years.

Home, Hogar, Casa鈥egardless how you say it, home defines us. Through this residency, a group of students in Patty Daniel鈥檚 class at Beech High School in Hendersonville, TN defined what home means to them by writing a song with professional songwriters Les Kerr and Tammy Vice.

May 6, 2014- MTSU students help win a Twitter contest
In the EXL ORCO 3250 class, the students are learning about fund raising. Their instructor, Lori Kissinger, thought it would be a good experience for them to participate in the newest form of fund raising which is happening through social media. The students worked on a twitter campaign for VSA 乐播传媒入口 through the Community Foundation of Middle 乐播传媒入口 and they went up against over 400 nonprofits in middle 乐播传媒入口. The group won the competition!

The 14-member Contemporary Issues in Science honors class for non-science majors promoted science and sustainability to 80 Discovery School fifth-graders April 14.

December 2, 2011- Class project helps save lives, educate students
MTSU students from Dr. Catherine Crooks鈥 psychology class participated in an HIV testing event as a project. The project totaled over five hours, with almost 300 students receiving test results, along with testing and counseling information.

鈥淎merican Tall Tales鈥 features student- and faculty-written tunes and tales about incredible characters like Pecos Bill, John Henry, Slue-Foot Sue, Annie Christmas and Johnny Appleseed. The show focuses on family fun with 7:30 p.m. performances set this Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 24-27, at MTSU and a 2 p.m. matinee planned for Sunday, Sept. 28.
