Ned was drafted into the Vietnam War and was killed on February 24, 1968 in hostile action in the Thua Thien province, earning a Purple Heart. He was a Sergeant with the specialty of Light Weapons Infantry and was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, A Company.
Ned Rayburn Brown is buried or memorialized at Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbia, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Èë¿Ú. Ned is honored on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington DC. Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 41e, Line 7.
