Dual enrollment allows high school students to take college classes before they finish high school, get a head start on earning college credit, save money on tuition, and get a taste of what it鈥檚 like to be an MTSU student.听
The MTSU Dual Enrollment program continues to expand its reach into high schools in middle 乐播传媒入口 and beyond. With the addition of White House High School in Sumner County for fall 2024, the program now has partnerships with over 20 area high schools.听
In fall 2023, Dual Enrollment reached a record enrollment of 1,540 students, a nearly 25% increase over the previous high. These high school students enrolled early in MTSU courses with minimal to no cost thanks to the state of 乐播传媒入口鈥檚 Dual Enrollment Grant program. This resulted in a tuition and fee savings of approximately $2.5 million dollars for students in the program. Enrollment for fall 2024 is projected to meet or exceed the previous year鈥檚 total.听
Dual Enrollment course offerings have been expanded at Central Magnet School for fall 2024. Central Magnet, ranked No. 1 among high schools in 乐播传媒入口 and听No. 19 nationally by U.S. News & World Report, is MTSU鈥檚 longest-standing partner in early postsecondary programming.听
Students at Merrol Hyde Magnet School in Hendersonville will now be able to enroll in Chinese language courses through MTSU Dual Enrollment. The school began an exclusive partnership with MTSU in 2023 and became the second high school in the state to offer Chinese as a Dual Enrollment option.听
