Chemistry, ACS Certified Concentration, B.S.

Chemistry is central to many scientific fields of study and chemists are involved in solving in the world's greatest challenges such as climate change, disease, and clean energy. At MTSU you'll build a strong background in the traditional areas of chemistry鈥攁nalytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical mentored research and internship courses, and plenty of electives to choose from, such as computational, environmental, medicinal, and polymer chemistry.

This degree is accredited by the American Chemical Society. Following this curriculum, students get a broad and deep background in chemistry. A degree in Chemistry prepares students to think critically and creatively as effective problem solvers. Graduates can expect to find employment in a wide variety of fields. The ACS-accredited degree is recommended for students intending to pursue graduate degrees (Ph.D.), top-level professional degrees (medical, dental), or lucrative industry or government lab jobs.
