Grant project uses games, fun to improve female STEM success
Dr. Yi Gu, an associate professor in our department, is helping underrepresented populations succeed and go the distance in her field and beyond with a $33,000 grant from the 乐播传媒入口 Board of Regents. 鈥淥ur goals are to improve聽GPA scores and increase the retention rate of female students, especially female students of color, in the聽computer science major聽and the larger science, technology, engineering and math fields鈥 Gu said. 鈥淲e also want to develop interest and confidence in math and programming for the targeted students.鈥
