Graduate Student Involvement & Resources
Graduate Students at MTSU have many resources available to them. If you need to know how to get your books, where to find the next bus, or you are hitting the career path and need a nice suit, check out the Campus Services below. If you want to be involved but don’t know what’s available, take a look through the Graduate Involvement listing. MTSU is full of life, and there are tons of things to explore and participate in where you may discover something you love.

Campus Services
The MTSU campus is equipped to assist you however we are able. We want your time here to be enriching and filled with good memories. To do this, we have constructed a list of resources available to all graduate students on campus.
- – If you come to campus at all, you will want a parking pass. This is included in your fees for the semester, so be sure to pick one up.
- – Pick up your MTSU ID Card for student printing, potential building access, Raider Funds and/or Flex Bucks, and additional discounts in the Murfreesboro area.
- MT One Stop – If you need help with financial aid or course registration, contact the MT One Stop. Email them at [email protected] or call 615-898-2111.
- 聽– At our campus bookstore, you are able to easily order any necessary course materials and pick up any MT swag that you want. Note: Renting books in this location may also be available.聽
- Alert4U – With 乐播传媒入口 weather, you never know what you’re going to get. The Alert4U App will advise you of any severe weather conditions or MTSU closings.
- 聽– This is a great resource if you cannot find our location.
- MTSU Recreational Center – The Rec Center is available to all MTSU students. Download the Campus Rec App for quick class or training registration and sign up for events with ease. If you are an alumni and wish to visit the rec, sign up for a membership plan at a discounted rate.
- – MTSU is filled with dining options. Find out where and when to get your favorites.
- Campus Housing – The Housing Office can help you with any housing needs you have. If you are new to town or just want to stay on campus, this is the perfect resource to get you started.
- – If you are looking for a new place to call home but do not want to live on campus, visit the Off-Campus Housing website for nearby rental options, roommate connections, and off-campus living resources.
- Health Services – Every student is able to receive care at MTSU’s Health Services. Whether you need a checkup, flu shot, or an x-ray, Health Services is here for you. A pharmacy is also available.
- 聽– The Ann Campbell Early Learning Center is an inclusive preschool for children ages 12 months through kindergarten age, offering a variety of enrollment options.聽
- Lost and Found – If it’s lost, it might be found here.
- – The Walker Library is four floors of awesome. There are tons of resources here, and not just books. If you need to use a computer or printer, the Library has you covered. Check out physical books or see what’s available on the Library’s website. You may be able to write that paper from your favorite comfy perch.
- – The Walker Library understands that as a graduate student, you have needs that may not fit the typical undergraduate student. See this page to learn what is available specifically for you.
- – MTSU provides free tutoring services for any course in which you need assistance. You may also think about volunteering as a tutor.
- 聽– The Writing Center is a great way to get valid feedback on your papers before you press submit. If you need help beginning or tweaking, they are here for you. You may also think about volunteering.聽
- & – Don’t let it confuse you; these are two separate testing centers, although, they are located in the same area. If you are preparing to take a Praxis, MCAT, or other high stakes exam, you will want to visit Testing Services. If you are taking a proctored exam for a distance learning course, DSST, or Microsoft Office exam, you need the Test Center.
- – The ITD Help Desk is always here if you have a technical/computer issue. Email them at [email protected] or call 615-898-5345.
- Registration Guide – The MTSU Registration Guide is a very important tool. Not only does it teach you how to find your courses and register appropriately, but it holds important dates and deadlines for each semester. Always keep this handy.
- Charlie & Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center – If you are using veterans benefits, you will want to visit the Daniels Center. They can help you navigate financial aid, government paperwork, employment opportunities, and have peer advisors and sponsors available. Thank you for your service!
- 聽– The June Anderson Center (JAC) has many programs available for women and nontraditional students. Their goal is to support learning and personal development for women and adult students who generally work full-time, are married, have children, and other adult responsibilities. Visit their site to learn how they can support you.聽
- 聽– The Disability and Access Center (DAC) provides accommodation, access, and awareness services to students. The MTSU goal is to help students succeed, and DAC is here to work with you to construct an accommodation plan that is right聽for you.
- MTSU Career Development Center – This is a great resource for active students or alumni who wish to receive career or internship advisement. If you need help finding what potential jobs work with your program or are looking for additional opportunities, make an appointment with a graduate consultant in the Career Center. MTSU students are also given an account to an employment/internship resource called .
- – MTSU understands that life can throw some curveballs. Counseling Services is here to provide guided meditation and/or stress reduction classes, short-term and grief counseling, and referral services are available. Both face-to-face and virtual Telehealth sessions can be supported.
- – There are numerous other centers that may catch your interest. Check out the Research and Public Centers website to see what’s available.
- Student Food Pantry – The Student Food Pantry helps those in need gather non-perishable items to stock your cabinet. If you are hungry and need some assistance, please contact the food pantry, it is here for you! Personal care and household items are also available. You may consider donating to help others.
- The Career Closet – The Career Closet helps students prepare for a job interview, internship, or first job post-graduation. Career Center staff are available to aid you in finding professional attire that meets your needs.
- – Call: 615-898-2424; Text: 615-636-3158 or 615-636-3137 If you have an emergency, always call 911. If you have a non-emergency situation and need assistance, the MTSU Police force is the best around. These fully qualified police officers are here to provide motorist assistance (i.e. if you’ve locked your keys in your car on campus), walk you to class or your car if you’re feeling nervous, and they patrol campus to keep us safe. Also note the located around campus if you are concerned about personal safety or have an immediate emergency.
Graduate Involvement
MTSU has activities constantly going on around campus. Our goal is to make your time as a graduate student at MTSU memorable and exciting, as well as providing a great education. No matter what you enjoy doing, there is a club, committee, or event here for you. If you are interested in academic activities, giving back to the community, simply leisure, or a construct of it all, take a look at the resources below and find something to enjoy.
- – MTSU has a club for every occasion; and if you can’t find what you want, you can create it with a few simple steps. Among many others in MyMT, you will find clubs centered around:

- – The Honors College presents a lecture series centered around a topic of academic discussion. Each series has a different topic with interesting discussions filling multiple dates.
- – Take advantage of the Education Abroad office and go on a trip of a lifetime. Study, learn, and meet new people across campus and around the world. Contact the Education Abroad office to learn more about available courses/locations, financial aid and scholarships, and see if studying abroad is right for you.
- – Intercultural and Diversity Affairs holds organizations, programs, and scholarships for students including Heritage Month Awareness, LGBT+ inclusivity, The Black Collegian Magazine, and College Compass.
- 聽– The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (CSIL) is a fantastic place to start your involvement adventure. This office presents Connection Point events, weekend events, and is the mastermind behind many helpful programs across campus.
- – The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the official liaison between the student body and administration. Involvement opportunities include the Student Senate, Election Commission, and the Homecoming Committee.
- 聽– The American Democracy Project (ADP) is a multi-campus initiative seeking to create intellectual and experiential understanding of civic engagement. Participate in registration drives, Constitution Day, and/or the Campus Civic Summit.
- MTSU Career Services Fair – Participate in the next big career fair and learn from individual career advising at Career Services. Find resume and curriculum vitae resources and look for job openings and virtual sessions on Handshake.
- – MT Engage Week holds fun, learning, and experiential activities that vary each year. During this week, you might learn motivational interviewing and personal branding skills, participate in the Veterans Heart and Sole Walk, go on a scavenger hunt, or help design a pop up mural.
- – If you enjoy sports, this is the website for you. All athletics, all the time.

- 聽– The Band of Blue marching band is the place to be. Don’t listen to practice and wish you were there, make it happen.
- – There are many ensemble opportunities on campus, and you are not required to be a music major. Check out auditions and join in the fun.
- 聽– Collage is a journal of creative expression produced by a student staff. Submit your photography, poetry, prose, art, audio, and videography for a chance to add to your resume or portfolio and become part of a 50-year tradition.
- – Sign up to receive the Sidelines newspaper or use your writing, editing, photography, designing, or video talents to join the Sidelines team.
- – The Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class is a free, women only, police taught, self-defense tactic course available to students, faculty, staff, and community members. Learn how to protect yourself in a safe space with hands on techniques against assault. You may take this free course as many times as you want. Must be at least 13 years old to register.
- 聽–聽Student Programming & Raider Entertainment (SPARE) is a student group providing聽quality, low-cost entertainment for students throughout the year. Participate in their events including concerts, movie screenings, etc. or join their team and gain event coordination experience, employment opportunities, and networking contacts.
- – The Makerspace offers free training and use of equipment and software such as their vinyl cutter, laser etcher, Virtual Reality, resin 3D printers, sewing machine, Raspberry Pi3, and paper cutter. Get trained, bring some supplies, and create to your heart’s content.
- & – Watch a theatre production, talent competition, or let your littles participate in the Kids Artistic Review. Want to get involved? Audition for a part, help design or manage a production, or check out a script from the Theatre & Dance department.
- – The MTSU Dance Theatre aims to provide the local community with high quality concert dance in a range of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, West African, and contemporary dance.
- – The Music department has tons of available concerts and recitals going on each year. Look through the concert calendar and watch live or recorded events at the Hinton Music Hall.
- – Saturdays at Todd is a faculty led initiative providing interactive workshops, lectures, and exhibits. Learn about art techniques and concepts while creating your own artwork to take home and display. These events are free and open to the public.
- 聽– SPARE presents weekly screenings of new and returning films along with some special events. Weekly screenings are free for MTSU聽students, faculty, staff, and their guests聽on a first-come, first-served basis.
- – WMOT 89.5 Roots Radio & 92.3 Jazz Network are MTSU based public radio stations. Listen live or look for employment opportunities at WMOT.
