Engage Program Overview

Friday, September 25

1:00-3:00 p.m.

Peck Hall 207

This two-hour program overview is for faculty interested in learning more about the Engage  program and how it benefits students. Attendance satisfies the training required to teach in the program. The session will: 

  • introduce the philosophy behind the Engage program and its student learning outcome, 
  • explain high-impact practices, beyond-the-classroom experiences, signature assignments, and the ePortfolio  
  • allow faculty to get feedback on ideas for beyond-the-classroom experiences and signature assignments  
  • explain the course certification process. 

Faculty attendees can earn a $150 stipend upon submission of a course certification form. Seats are limited. Express your interest in attending by completing this .  

Mentoring Summit

We are pleased to welcome Maria LaMonaca Wisdom, author of How to Mentor Anyone in Academia, as the featured speaker for MTSU’s Mentoring Summit. The event will provide practical strategies for building productive mentoring relationships and strengthening a culture of mentoring across the university. Maria LaMonaca Wisdom is assistant vice provost for faculty advancement at Duke University. Formerly a professor of literature and a graduate student adviser, she now holds a faculty appointment in the Program in Education at Duke. She is also a professional certified coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation. The summit will also include a networking lunch. All attendees will receive a copy of Dr. Wisdom’s book.
